CORGI COCA COLA EARLY 60'S VW CAMPER The VW Camper is a truly iconic vehicle that has a special place in many people’s hearts and now, following a partnership between Corgi and Coca-Cola we are pairing the two globally admired heavyweights into one fantastic little model. The history of the VW Type 2 starts with Dutch dealer Ben Pons, the first agent outside of Germany to sell VWs, who in 1947 drew a sketch of a Lieferwagen (light delivery van) that he saw a market for in Holland. VW's engineers worked on the concept and displayed the first vans in 1949. Production commenced in 1950 and other variants such as pick-ups, campers and buses were soon available. The 'split-window' was produced until 1967, by which time 1,477,330 had been made. This 1:43 scale model of the VW Camper is of the highest Corgi Vanguards quality and dons a livery inspired by Coca-Cola in the 1960’s. So, if you or someone special is looking to start or expand on their die-cast or Coca-Cola themed collection this would be the perfect starting point for the adult collector |
