The Transall was designed on the basis of a common FRG (Federal Republic of Germany) and France program for the development of a military transport plane with a medium operating range. Incorporating ADAC (Short Take Off Landing) features, it can take off from and land on crudely prepared runways. The prototype�s first flight took place on February 25th, 1963.
